SQL Saturday Schedule Builder
There's gold on the SQLSaturday website and I want to help you find it. I'm talking about the Schedule Builder. By using the schedule builder before the event, I can see whether a session is projected to overflow their room capacity. It does not commit you to a particular schedule! Attend whatever sessions you chose. What the schedule builder does, is provides the SQL Saturday admins insight into what's likely to be popular. This allows me to proactively move sessions into larger class rooms so that everyone can attend the hot session of the hour.
How do I use Schedule BuilderUsing the Schedule Builder is easy peasy.
Click the LOG IN link and the AJAX control will drop down. Enter your user name and password. Don't know them? No problem. Click forgot password
A warning will pop indicating you are leaving sqlsaturday and going to sqlpass. That's to be expected.
Did you know that when you signed up for SQLSaturday, you became a member of SQL PASS (Professional Association for SQL Server)? Heck no you didn't, you were too excited about free SQL Server training. You should explore the other opportunities PASS provides for you to grow as a professional (free virtual chapters, user groups, Summit, SQLRally, 24 Hours of PASS) but not until you've built out your schedule. Enter the address you're getting SQLSaturday 159 email delivered to and click the button.
Once you've received that email, reset your password and venture back to http://sqlsaturday.com/159/eventhome.aspx
Sign in and notice the site greets you ever so kindly
Click the Schedule and select Schedule Builder
You'll be presented with a page like the following. Click the "Edit Schedule button and chose a primary and alternative session.
- Click save, you're done, my report is now populated with your choices and now I have to scramble to move sessions about. :D
A the Summit, their guidebook had the ability to integrate with your SQLPass account but I'm not seeing it at the moment.
